My Mission

Yes, that’s me, Alison.  The petite brunette with a big heart and a massive plan.

That smiling girl above, is recovering from an eating disorder that almost destroyed her life.

I am blessed to say that I chose the road of recovery from anorexia.  Though it is the hardest thing I have ever done, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.  If you want to read my full story click here.  (You need a password.  Email me at for it.)

Now, I want to make it my mission to help those whom are struggling from any illness.  In fact, that what I am going to college for.. Pre-Med!

Before I get my MD, I want to help in a different way.  I hope to be a light to those suffering.  I know what it is like to stare at gardens of bursting blossoms and see grayness.  I know what it is like to see a plate full of delicious food in front of me and start to tremble with uncontrollable fear.  I know what it is like to see your future ahead and just see darkness.

I am here to tell each and every one of you that there is a perfect and divine plan for you.

I am gaining strength and self-love through my faith in Jesus and my family with the help of hobbies and reading.  I am where I am today because of these wonderful things.

This blog is my way of chronicling my highs and lows of recovery, life, and everything in between.  I hope it makes your day a little brighter.

  1. Good for you for sharing, Alison! I too am a petite girl who struggled with an ED for many years, and it took me a long time to open up about my experiences. I can’t tell you how cathartic it was for me in the end, and how much joy I feel that in sharing my own story, I might be able to help others.
