Fluffy Honey Peanut Butter

Fluffy Honey Peanut Butter

Homemade peanut butter always has to be runny.  Right?  Nope!  Here is a delicious recipe on how to make perfect fluffy peanut butter right in the comfort of your own home.  All you need is a few ingredients and a powerful food processor.

The result is a fluffy and slightly sweet peanut butter.  It is awesome and inexpensive!  I have a few tips to tell you on how to save money when making your own peanut butter at home.

Fluffy Honey Peanut Butter

  • 1 lb. unsalted peanuts (3 cups)
  • 2 Tbl. natural honey **I used honey that was made locally.  You can definitely tell a difference!  It has a more natural and smooth sweetness to it.**
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Take your peanuts and toast them in the oven.  This is optional, I just like to have a more roasted flavor in my nut butter. (Yes, I know they are already roasted, I just like them extra toasty 😉 )

Money Saving Tip: Instead of going to the produce section for your nuts, look in the middle aisle where all the snack mixes are.  Instead of paying $5 for a pound of peanuts, I bought this container for around $2.25.  It is the same thing, just cheaper!

In a food processor, grind the nuts until it looks like a dry clump (2nd picture).  Add the honey and salt.  Pulse until it is smooth.  It will take a little bit for the nuts to release their oils.  Be sure to not over whip it.

The result: fluffy honey peanut butter!

It is that simple!

Place in an air-tight container and refrigerate!

I put it on my oats in the morning.  Oh so good.

These oats have chia seeds, banana, and cinnamon in addition to the peanut butter.  It was de-licous!
